Responding to Increasing Costs of Electricity and Natural Gas
On December 10, 2008, the Institute for Regulatory Policy Studies will sponsor a one-day conference titled “Responding to Increasing Costs of Electricity and Natural Gas,” at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Springfield, IL. The conference will feature three sessions focusing on
(1) sources of increasing costs for electricity and natural gas, including rising fuel costs and climate change policies;
(2) the current status of energy efficiency, demand response, and real-time pricing programs; and
(3) emerging options designed to offset cost increases, including smart grid technology and natural gas supply options.
