Fall 2014 Conference

The Institute for Regulatory Policy Studies at Illinois State University is sponsoring a conference entitled "Innovation, Conservation, and Customer Participation", on Thursday, October 23, 2014 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Springfield, IL. The conference will focus on three issues concerning
(1) innovations in energy efficiency,
(2) declining water usage, and
(3) innovations in customer service.

Session 1 will examine the developments and innovations in electricity and natural gas, and discuss the impact of smart meters and energy efficiency.

Session 2 will assess the current needs and challenges faced by declining water usage in Illinois, factors and forecasts of water usage, and potential policy options to recover costs.

Session 3 will discuss innovations in customer service, enabling new products and services, visions for the future, and advances in advance metering infrastructure.
